Have you ever wondered about the sort of people who contribute to this
news group? I used to. I even considered quesions of purpose, the
general aims and objectives of groups such as this. Such considerations
no longer puzzle me. And here is why.

For some time now I have been monitoring discussions in a number news
groups, including of course this one, and I have been quite impressed
with the variety of topics covered as well as both the quantity and
intellectual level of the contributions. After careful analysis, over a
long period of time, of traffic both frequency and content I have come
to a number of considered conclusions which I would like to share with
all contributors to this group. 

I have been forced to concluded that many of the contributors are alien
life forms living here on earth and are masquerading as humans in this
news group. It seems to me that some postings are cunningly devised IQ
tests. Others are subtle personality tests devised to identify this,
that or the next trait. Before any of you dismiss this suggestion out of
hand just consider the content of nearly all of the postings to this
group. Iff they are not what I have suggested then the only other
credible answer is that they are the products of thoroughly deranged
minds. A mind so damaged that it produces in the owner a gross
distortion of both self and external reality leading to the production
and dissemination of grotesquely bizzare untenable ideas. As no one, of
this earth, could possibly be the owner of such a disturbed and
thoroughly dissorientated mind, I am sure that you would now agree with
my original conclusion. The purpose of such postings, it seems to me at
any rate, is to encourage certain types of people, to identify
themselves by mailing those posting to this group direct by e-mail and
NOT to reply to this group, or for that matter any group. The test would
be for individuals such as the readers of this posting to contact
contributors by e-mail and see what response they get.

However, I am also slowly comming to the conclusion that Government
agencies, such as those dealing with mental health also have an interest
in both contributing to and monitoring such groups. For one thing they
are  able to gauge to what extent community care of the mentally ill has
failed. It would also give them an indication of how far the early
detection of mental illness has also failed. And of course, it gives
them some indication of the activities of the Aliens amongst us.
